Shixiong Zhou

I am an MPhil student in Data Science and Analytics at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). My research interests lie in AI for data science and optimization, with applications in transportation and aviation.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Transportation (Air Traffic Management) from the Civil Aviation Flight University of China. My undergraduate research focused on computer vision and its applications in aviation, including object detection, airport surface monitoring, and UAV-based wildfire inspection.

Research Interests

AI & optimization — data-driven decision-making and decision-focused learning.
Urban air mobility — low-altitude environments, infrastructure planning, and transportation systems.
Air Traffic Management — airspace operations, air traffic flow management, and aviation safety.
